Stone Floor Polishing

Dry soil removal

  • Dust-mop/vac with soft brush before any wet process
  • Checks: No grit left in corners or grout lines

Neutral wet clean

  • Clean using pH-neutral stone cleaner; machine scrub and wet-vac rinse
  • Checks: No streaking or detergent film; grout visibly clean

Stain treatment

  • Apply poultice for oil, rust, or organic stains
  • Checks: Stain removed or visibly reduced without halo

Hone/polish restoration

  • Diamond hone passes to remove scratches, then powder-polish to restore sheen
  • Checks: Even gloss, no swirl marks, uniform finish

Seal/impregnate

  • Apply penetrating sealer after stone is fully dry; buff off residue
  • Checks: Water beads for ≥60 seconds; surface not tacky

Repairs

  • Re-point grout, epoxy-fill chips, correct lippage (uneven edges)
  • Checks: Joints flush, no trip hazards

Slip resistance verification

  • Carry out slip resistance test (pendulum/DCOF) and mitigate if low
  • Checks: Meets required safety values; mats added in wet zones if needed
